Adiaha loved children and young people and we would like to hear about organisations who have developed projects that have made a real impact to the lives of local children and young people.

Hackney is a place that has always welcomed new communities - we would like to hear from organisations that have done exceptional work in this area.

Tackling inequality is one of the strengths of our vibrant sector – which group do you feel has made a significant contribution in this area.

Do you know a group who has taken an innovative approach to face current challenges, either of recession or changes to services. Have they raised money locally through events, developed a new enterprise, or been creative in demonstrating the impact they have on their communities?

Closing date: Thursday, 2 September 2010

Who can nominate?

Nominations are open to anyone who wants to enter their chosen voluntary or community organisation. 
For example, you may work or volunteer for the organisation or  have received support from them.  Equally, you may have worked with them on a project or you may be impressed by their work. 

Which organisations can be nominated?

You can nominate any Hackney-based voluntary or community sector (VCS) organisation.

How to nominate?

There is a short nomination form to complete below.  Just write why you think your chosen organisation should win the award and return to HCVS by 2 September 2010.


You can make as many nominations as you wish but please only nominate one organisation for one award at a time.

What happens with your nomination and when will the winners be awarded?

A panel of HCVS trustees and staff willl look at each nomination and the winners will be presented at Your future, Our focus: Hackney Futures Fair on Tuesday, 7 September, 10am - 5pm at HCVS.   Click here to find out about this event

These awards are in memory of Adiaha Antigha, HCVS' beloved Director, who passed away in 2006.  Adiaha, pictured right was a champion for Hackney's voluntary and community sector (VCS).
