Yashar Ismailoglu of Alevi Cultual Centre said: 'We are very proud that our work is appreciated - it is a great reminder that whatever you do somebody will appreciate it - nothing goes unnoticed. We are very grateful it's a real boost for morale. Adiaha was a friend for 22 years and I learnt a lot from her resilienceI learnt a lot from her resilienceI worked with her on many occasions, to represent refugee communities, fight racial harassment and develop refugee voluntary and community organisations.'

Alevi Cultural Centre was nominated by Ali Aksoy of Hackney Refugee Forum who said: 'I have known Alevi Cultural Centre since the 90s and the Turkish speaking peoples’ appreciation especially for their services (funeral, education, luncheon club for elderly etc.) for the Alevi faith group members which had been under oppression in Middle East area because of their beliefs. Their hard working MC members and volunteers are doing their best to run their centre and support their disadvantaged members successfully in difficult circumstances. They really deserved the Adiaha’s award and they got it.'
