Investment in Hackney’s Children’s Workforce 2010: A Skills and Professional Development Programme For third sector practitioners and managers

Part A: Consultancy

Apply for peer support and 1-1 guidance, access to the latest Children’s Workforce training and tailormade guidance to update your policies and procedures.  For example, Risk assessment, Safeguarding, Staff continuous professional development (CPD) and Information sharing requirements.

What you will receive: At least two sessions of support from HCVS staff and a toolkit that has been designed specifically for this project to help you develop policies and practices which are essential to securing ongoing funding for activities with children and young people.

These include:

  • A stronger framework for recruiting, managing and developing staff
  • A better understanding of how to put policies and practices in place which safeguard children and young people
  • An understanding of how to implement the Common Assessment Framework
  • A clearer understanding of the legal and policy framework, including the jargon that regulates services to children and young people.

When you will get this support: The support will start in October 2009 and run to March 2010.

Who can access this support?

To apply for Part A you:

  • must be a voluntary or community sector (VCS) agency based in Hackney that works with children or young people in any capacity
  • will be able to demonstrate a real need in your organisation for this support
  • will be able to demonstrate a commitment to learning and making changes as needed
  • will be able to show that you have capacity to make those changes over the period of the project
  • be willing to take part in activities that help others learn from your experience.
