On Tuesday, 7 September from 10am - 5pm, HCVS invites you to a day dedicated to supporting your organisation in these interesting times.
The day will take place at Springfield House where HCVS is based, and is being held in partnership with our neighbours and peer organisations, City and Hackney Carers Centre and Volunteer Centre Hackney.At Springfield House, 5 Tyssen Street London E8 2LY

We are setting up a range of attractions for you, including stalls for you to meet funders and infrastructure support agencies, micro seminar sessions, panel discussion on the new voluntary and community sector strategy for Hackney, food and lots of networking opportunities.
What will be happening on the day?
10am - 5pm Open for stalls all day Stalls include Trust for London, City Bridge, Heritage Lottery Fund, Community Empowerment Network, Interlink Foundation, BEMWG: Black and Ethnic Minority Working Group, East London Business Alliance, Hackney Refugee Forum, Community Accountancy Project London.
PLUS! Art Therapy from Hands Inc, One to ones with Sean Taylor from Unity Trust Bank, Bollywood Dancing and Henna Tattoos.
Throughout the afternoon, we have five micro seminars covering some of the hot topics for the voluntary and community sector.

11am -12pm: Maximising opportunities for investment and growth in the sector
Get the inside information on how to make a successful application for a range of funding programmes, including Hackney Funding Programme, London Rebuilding Society and Trust for London.
With speakers Bruce Wood: London Rebuilding Society, Maria Leatham: Hackney Funding Programme LBH and Douglas Gunn: Trust for London.
12 -1pm: Commissioning Makeover Looking at lessons from past commissioning and future prospects, this session brings together key local commissioners to discuss: - investment in the voluntary and community sector - case studies of successful good practice and practical tips on bidding and contracting - How could local commissioning be improved? Have your say in the consultation on Third Sector Commissioning Strategic Framework.
With speakers Sonia Khan: Head of Commissioning and Resources LBH, Sarah Wright: City and Hackney Safeguarding Children Board LBH, Patricia Clark and Andy Mills: The Learning Trust, Zainab Jalil: Children & Young People’s Commissioning LBH.
1 - 2pm: Big Picture Local Communities How do national policies affect communities in Hackney? This session will bring together national funders to discuss Hackney’s priorities. In October, the Equality Act replaces the existing antidiscrimination laws with a single act. Find out what this means for your organisation.
With speakers Michael Murray: Heritage Lottery Fund, Rosalind Hardie Ejiohuo: Head of Equality and Diversity LBH and Ciaran Rafferty: City Bridge Trust.
2 - 3.30pm: Vision for Hackney: Introducing the VCS strategy for Hackney What is the reality of the funding climate following recent cuts? How can we adjust and meet the needs of our communities? Find out about the new VCS strategy for Hackney.

3.30 - 3.45pm: The way of the future? Launch of a consultation on a Community Interest Company for Hackney.
With speakers Rebecca Clarkson: Director of Programmes HCVS and Chaya Spitz: Interlink Foundation.
