Hackney CVS promotes and supports the development of the voluntary and community sector in Hackney.
We do this by providing:
Information and advice (see INFORMATION & ADVICE) — keeping voluntary and community groups informed about issues of relevance to the voluntary sector.
Advice and support (see CAPACITY BUILDING) — on setting up and running a group. This might include advice on funding, finance, staff and volunteers, business planning or charity registration, in any combination.
Training — organising and delivering courses and workshops and circulating information about other local training opportunities.
Practical Services — supporting the development of groups and organizations through offering practical assistance, for example, photocopying, design & publicity, resources and briefing papers.
Representation and Networking — acting as a liaison agent between voluntary/community organizations and between the voluntary sector and the public and private sectors; promoting the interests of the community and voluntary sector.
