EDI Level 2 NVQ for IT Users

The iTQ (Information Technology Qualification) is designed to encourage new learning and to assess workplace competence in applying IT skills relevant to your job role.  Learners must be enabled and supported to undertake this qualification by their employer.

 

 

Who is this qualification for? For candidates whose role involves carrying out complex and substantial IT activities with a considerable amount of responsibility and autonomy.  Units can be taken at a variety of levels which gives flexibility to enable the qualification to match job roles. The qualification will allow candidates to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a level recognised by employers, thus proving competency in their job role.

 

Employers will benefit from: The qualification is aimed at improving on the job performance and bringing real efficiency and an increase in output.

 

Employees will benefit from: You will gain a clearer understanding of their responsibility within your organisation as well as:
• the opportunity to develop new skills; and
• the recognition of existing skills.

Attendance: Completion of the programme is expected within 1 to 2 months depending on individual candidate’s ability and level of competence on entry to the course.  You will attend a day's tutorial session per week for four weeks, plus 4-5 weeks assessment sessions at the workplace (this may vary from one candidate to another).

Learning method: National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are developed from National Occupational Standards that are based on typical job responsibilities within an industry. Each Standard is an individual unit of competence. The unit describes an area of an individual's job role and the industry standard that is required.

Tutorials and learning workshops plus one-to-one assessment at candidate’s workplace and or as may be deemed necessary.
This award has been designed to reflect the most up-to-date thinking about IT work based needs. The qualification gives the candidate formal recognition of their performance in the work place and assesses the knowledge and understanding of the key areas of Information Technology.
