Fresh Start Community Link

Who we are

Fresh Start Community Link (FSCL) began in March 2007, the business being in the heart of Clapton Park Square, made us aware of the growing needs.

This gave us the opportunity to gain the confidence of the young and elderly, setting standards and discipline for the young to follow. It prompted us to work with the young people as to what their needs are within the community,

After much communication the request was to help them to progress their skill or to help them find employment even to type up co’s etc, and were overwhelmed by young people asking for work placements.

Fresh Start Community Link started because we saw a need to assist young people in the Community, wanting to provide them with a social and educational atmosphere to give them a sense of direction in order for to achieve their goals.

We work with

FSCL will be working closely with the local police (to which we have already developed a positive relationship). Barclays Bank has shown a great interest in our project and has since advised that they would be happy to work together with us.

Clapton Park Neighbourhood Office have confirmed their interest and are in constant contact with us to help find further funding in order to keep the young people flowing into the FSCL project. Family Concern have confirmed they wish to work with us on counselling young people as this is what they currently specialise in.

Services we offer

We offer a series of training events i.e.: pre-employment related activities specifically targeted at post school age youths in IT skills, interview techniques, confidence building, self awareness, basic office skills, numeracy, literacy etc. On a monthly basis we arrange Parents/Guardian social evenings to air any concerns they may have and provide help where necessary.
