Hear what Hackney CVS Talent Scouts learned from team building activities on their residential trip

Team work makes the dream work

Hackney CVS Talent Scouts recently went on a team building residential.

The trip offered young people the chance to improve their confidence, develop leadership skills, become more determined, and create positive relationships with their peers.

Alex Ingrey said: 'Being a Talent Scout has helped me meet new people and learn more about myself. Coming to places like this helps me connect better with people. It’s a very good opportunity to get to know everyone and become part of a group. So far the team building activities have made me feel more confident in my decision making and speaking up.

Looking into the future, it will hopefully open some doors for me. I can even get some support from the people here. This would be a massive bonus. I guess the programme will help me elevate as a citizen.'

Ofeyla Kastanbollu also commented: 'There is a lot of team building. We are coming outdoors and getting to know our colleagues. I've learnt more about my peers than I did before which will enable a positive working relationship with them. The country side is so much nicer that London to do that'. I’ve been a Talent Scout for about two years. It’s been really helpful to find a stable job. There are a lot of jobs in retail and restaurants but Talent Match helps you find a stable job.'

The Talent Scouts are part of the Big Lottery funded programme Talent Match. Talent Match London is a partnership of organisations testing innovative youth-led solutions to unemployment & sharing learning for social impact.
