Hackney Disturbances Partnership Project
Following the August 2011 Hackney disturbances, Hackney CVS commissioned twenty three community projects to talk to local people about what had happened and what should be done in the future to prevent further disturbances.
IPSOS/MORI who were funded by Hackney CVS, pulled together the findings of this work and have produced the following report:

The report will be presented at conference to the Hackney Mayor and other key people including Baroness Sherlock from the Communities and Victims Panel who are heading up the national inquiry into the disturbances, Baroness Newlove, the Government's Champion for Active, Safer Communities, Diane Abbott MP, Meg Hillier MP and IPCC Commissioner Mike Franklin.
This conference, which is by invite only, will draw on insight gathered to date from quantitative data, community engagement and community insight work in order to consider and agree the underlying issues which require a policy or service response.
The aim is that this feeds into the refreshed focus and priorities for the Sustainable Community Strategy, following the review which has been underway over the last few months, and ahead of this being finalised in late November. The event will also identify a more limited set of actions which are required more immediately.
